Overview
Nectar Solar provides an opportunity to use previously un-farmed land with clean energy. The project will grow the local economy and produce enough energy to power over 250 homes for the next 35 years. The project ensures long-term tax revenue, boosts the local economy, and provides a clean source of energy for Rockingham County while preserving the land for future uses.
Timeline
Nectar Solar is in the early stages of a multi-year development process that includes detailed utility, engineering, environmental, biological, cultural, and historical studies, as well as reviews with county and state agencies. Pending the successful completion of all required studies and approvals, construction on Nectar Solar is estimated to commence in early 2023 and last for 12-18 months.
Features
Nectar Solar is located in Rockingham County, Virginia on commercial timberland maintained in rows of planted pines. The 19 acre project site would produce about 3 MWac. Wooded buffers will remain on all sides of the project for visual screening and will be enhanced with additional planting where required.
